About
Hi, I’m Pardha, a cloud native observability engineer based in Singapore.
I build the systems that tell engineers what their software is doing in production: distributed tracing, metrics and logs, collected at scale and turned into answers. Day to day that means OpenTelemetry instrumentation libraries, telemetry pipelines, and the Kubernetes platforms they run on.
What I work on
- OpenTelemetry: instrumentation libraries, auto-instrumentation and Collector pipelines that application teams use to monitor their services.
- Telemetry at scale: processing high volumes of trace, metric and log data across container and non-container workloads.
- Storage and analytics: ClickHouse, Prometheus, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
- Platform: Kubernetes, Docker, Istio, Kafka.
- Languages: Go (my main focus now), Python, Java.
Background
I started in 2009 in middleware: WebSphere MQ and Message Broker administration and production support at TCS, IBM and Wipro. That taught me how production systems break, and how hard it is to see why. Since 2018 I have worked at Visa in Singapore, moving from systems engineering to platform engineering to observability, where I now design and build observability platforms.
I also mentor engineers on my team, and I’m a member of Toastmasters, where I practise explaining technical ideas clearly.
Certifications
- ClickHouse Certified Developer (2025)
- Prometheus Certified Associate (2024)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (2023)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (2021)
- Programming with Google Go Specialization, UC Irvine (2023)
What I’m doing now
- Writing more Go by hand: reading and contributing to the exporters and Collector components I use every day.
- Running this site on a small VPS that monitors itself with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana. I’ll write up how it’s built here.
